Tbqh the whole thing reminds me of BL2 where it was common to see the game load low-res textures first and then load hi-res textures over them, but somehow only loading higher-res textures at all/first immediately around the player/camera, where as Dolphin HD here has it's added 'HD' textures loaded/visible at all times. Which is a shame because all the minor details with the new textures in Wii U TPHD really do look amazing, but they fade away too quickly+close to even be noticed outside of cut-scenes or standing right next to characters/objects. Wii U looks better when up close/in the foreground, everything else looks better in Dolphin past a set distance/in the background when the new/ Wii U textures fade away entirely and Dolphin's HD textures end up being sharper/stand out more by contrast. Just watch any of scenes with both characters in the foreground and background at the same time or when the camera zooms in/out on anyone it's fairly obvious.
